Spatial T-H Precoding for Packet Data Systems with Scheduling
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper combines spatial Tomlinson-Harashima (TH) precoding with packet scheduling at the transmitter to improve the system-level performance of packet data systems. Under the assumptions of instantaneous and perfect channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter and independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) user channels with flat fading, the spatially equalized and decoupled multiuser channels are shown to be independently faded with distinct orders of diversity. The potential power gain obtained by multiuser scheduling indicates that at medium to high SNR, the average total system throughput can be greatly improved with high spatial multiplexing as compared to a single-antenna system. Capacity-approaching data transmission in MIMO broadcast channels
This dissertation focuses on downlink multi-antenna transmission with packet scheduling in a wireless packet data network. The topic is viewed as a critical system design problem for future high-speed packet networks requiring extremely high spectral efficiency. Our aim is to illustrate the interaction between transmission schemes at the physical layer and scheduling algorithms at the medium ac...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis for Linearly Precoded LTE Downlink Multiuser MIMO
The average channel capacity and the SINR distribution for multiuser Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems in combination with the base station based packet scheduler are analyzed in this paper. The packet scheduler is used to exploit the available multiuser diversity in all the three physical domains (i.e., space, time and frequency). The analysis model is based on the generalized 3GPP...
متن کاملCross-layer Packet-dependant OFDM Scheduling Based on Proportional Fairness
This paper assumes each user has more than one queue, derives a new packet-dependant proportional fairness power allocation pattern based on the sum of weight capacity and the packet’s priority in users’ queues, and proposes 4 new cross-layer packet-dependant OFDM scheduling schemes based on proportional fairness for heterogeneous classes of traffic. Scenario 1, scenario 2 and scenario 3 lead r...
متن کاملMIMO downlink joint processing and scheduling: a survey of classical and recent results
Using M antennas at the base station can boost the downlink throughput by a factor M (multiplexing gain), even though the receivers have a single antenna and do not cooperate. In this semi-tutorial paper, we discuss some lowcomplexity alternatives to achieve a downlink throughput very close to the optimal sum capacity. We review and compare these alternatives and we show that, in the simple set...
متن کاملFrom Single User to Multiuser Communications: Shifting the MIMO Paradigm
In multiuser MIMO networks, the spatial degrees of freedom offered by multiple antennas can be advantageously exploited to enhance the system capacity, by scheduling multiple users to simultaneously share the spatial channel. This entails a fundamental paradigm shift from single user communications, since multiuser systems can experience substantial benefit from channel state information at the...
